The Teak Trade Project presented by Maison Ezanintchi focuses on the development and exploitation of teak (Tectona grandis) plantations in Côte d’Ivoire.
Originally from Southeast Asia, teak is a fast-growing, durable hardwood highly valued for its mechanical strength, resistance to decay, and versatility in both outdoor and indoor applications. It is widely used in construction, furniture, shipbuilding, and interior design. The plantation is located in the Indénié region, within a mesophilic forest zone characterized by favorable rainfall and balanced climatic conditions, making it particularly suitable for teak cultivation.
Established in 2007 on a 12.78 hectare former cocoa plantation, the site benefits from optimal ecological and soil conditions. Proper preparation, planting during the rainy season, and early maintenance ensured a high survival and growth rate. The plantation has not suffered from fires or livestock damage and now shows a 90% success rate. The stand has reached maturity for exploitation, with significant volumes of timber and service wood available for harvest, reflecting strong productivity and solid commercial potential
This initial plot forms part of a broader development program representing a potential of approximately 400 hectares of teak plantations (wich represents more than 70,000 m3 of wood), planned for gradual commercialization over time.
We are a team of African experts in logistics, purchasing, customer relations, and service providers in the agricultural world.
